What's On Your Mind?

There is a lingering depression that plagues the mind yet somehow it can be hidden from the people closest to you. Of course there are times, when someone will pick up on a difference or a shift in your mood or your behavior and when asked they may become defensive or plainly deny it. Unfortunately, there is still a stigma attached to mental illness. No one wants to be singled out with a label that automatically prompts negative thoughts/beliefs - crazy, weak, sick, unworthy, losers, etc. Are you in a funk that you just cannot seem to shake? Are you having thoughts of ending your life because no one cares or you hate your life? Are you consumed with thoughts of not having everything you need? Lost a job? Had a bad break up? Cannot seem to find love? Addicted to drugs? Wish things would get better? Stuck in a place of mourning the loss of a loved one? and on and on...

Mental health affects your overall health. Denny Nelson and Alicia Raimundo explores the importance of seeking the appropriate care for your overall mental health. Keep in mind, your health and wellness depends on you.

  1. The mind is such as fascinating thing. I find my health is completely reliant on the nature of my thoughts. I know if I let my thoughts run wild with negative thoughts it becomes a downhill battle with my health and the only way to turn it around is to change my thoughts for the better. It's actually quite crazy what one can do to themselves with their own mind.

  2. That is right Tom, the mind is an amazing thing. We need to learn how to use it for our benefit. On the other hand, we also need to be open to discuss the challenges that plagues the mind of others and ways to reset/readjust our mind.
