Just a few weeks ago we had our family picnic/barbecue at a beautiful park where the sun glistened on the water, the boats sailed by, people were fishing, families gathered at tables and music filled the air. It was a beautiful day. The weather was perfect and our table had the comfort of a big tree, no constant swatting of bees/flies - it was perfect.
When it comes to cooking and eating, we thoroughly enjoy the whole experience. The planning that we put into these fun family events are carefully considered, complete with a list and a meeting. The most important thing is the food. What's on the menu? Naturally, we have the beef burgers, beef hot dogs, chicken, ribs, corn, sodas, chips, fruits, juices, water, etc. On other occasions, we have had other healthy barbecue/grilling moments with chicken kebabs, shrimp kebabs, salmon, vegetables, fruit salad and other healthy foods. However, there are many alternatives to enjoying a fun family time where you can feature more healthy items on the menu. In fact, our next barbecue/picnic will have a variety of healthier items which we will devour just the same :-)
As Labor Day weekend is here, for some, the grilling will begin on Saturday and end on Monday. Here are a few videos that will give you great alternatives to enjoy your holiday grilling without the after guilt ;-) Bring your volleyball, football, frisbee, cards, or any games that will engage others and have a great family fun time.

Natural Remedies for Healthy Skin
For the great love and deep appreciation of nature, I am often in awe of the herbs, plants, barks and other naturally grown produce. These resources often offer relief and healing to our bodies. The quest to know more leads me to explore the various ways that we may be able to take advantage of the benefits.
There are many skin conditions that may be treated effectively by using some natural therapies and we will hear from the experts of Veria Wellness TV - Amanda McQuade Crawford and Noelle Katai on how we can achieve good health and the optimum results. Keep in mind that in some cases, sacrifices have to be made. It is necessary to follow the instructions. As always, if you are under the care of a physician, please discuss before you try any new treatments or therapies - even though they are promoted for the great health benefits.
Have you ever tried any natural remedies?

The Power of Coconut Oil
♪♪You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up ♪♪ Are you singing along? Fun song isn't it? Well, the fun continues with the good health news on coconut oil.
Whenever you see coconuts, do you think islands, tropical, exotic and more. As an island girl, I have a love and appreciation for coconuts. I have enjoyed my share of coconut treats. I live for sugar-cakes (a cluster of grated coconut mixed with brown sugar). I love coconut tarts, cakes, cookies and Almond Joy not the healthiest treats huh? I do indulge at times - remember all things in moderation. I have also had the delightful pleasure of drinking the coconut juice right from the freshly cracked coconut - a healthy treat.
Now for the drum roll, the coconut has its share of amaaaaaazing health benefits.
